Use: Basmati Brown, Long Grain Brown, & Himalayan Nature
1 cup rice
3 cups of water
1/4 teaspoon salt to taste
1/4 teaspoon oil of your choice for less sticky rice
Add rice into a large bowl.
Rinse the rice a few times (2+ times) in warm-cold water to remove surface starch from rice.
Once the rice is water is clear after rinsing a few times, allow the rice to soak in the water for at least 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes+, take a pot and pour 1 & 1/4 cups of water and 1/4 teaspoon of salt (optional oil) on high heat.
While waiting for the water in the saucepan to simmer, strain rice out of the water it was sitting in.
When the water begins to simmer, add in the rice.
Allow the rice to cook on high heat for a few minutes until the water boils down.
Once the water boils down, reduce heat to low and cover the pot.
Allow the rice to simmer on low heat, covered, for about 30-32 minutes.
Turn off heat and leave rice covered for an additional 5-10 minutes.
Uncover, fluff with a fork, and enjoy!
