Boiled Brown Rice
Prep Time: 5 min. Cook Time: 30 min. Total Time: 45 min. Servings: 4
Use: Basmati Brown, Long Grain Brown, & Himalayan Nature
1 cup rice
3 cups of water
1/4 teaspoon salt to taste
1/4 teaspoon oil of your choice for less sticky rice
Rinse rice a few times in warm-cold water to remove surface starch from rice.
If you have time, allow the rice to soak for at least 30 minutes.
Pour 1 1/4 cups of water and 1/4 teaspoon of salt (optional oil) to pot on high heat.
When the water begins to simmer, add in the rice.
Wait for the water to boil down.
Reduce heat to low heat and cover the pot.
Simmer on low heat, covered, for about 30-32 minutes.
Turn off heat and leave rice covered for an additional 5-10 minutes.
Uncover, fluff with a fork, and enjoy!
