How to cook basmati rice is known for its aromatic grains that are light and delicious once cooked. It looks and tastes delicious and is the perfect companion to any delicious curry. It is simple to cook and the possibilities are endless.

Basmati Rice found in two types organic basmati brown rice and organic basmati white rice.


Boiled Basmati Rice:


Ingredients:

  • Soaked and cleaned basmati rice of 200g in 7 oz. of water for at least 30 minutes.

  • 365 ml water for cooking.

  • ½ tsp lemon juice.

  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Add water to a pot and let it come to a boil.

  2. Add lemon juice and salt into the water and stir.

  3. Add in rinsed rice.

  4. On medium-high, allow the water to boil down.

  5. Once boiled down, cook on low heat, covered, for 10-15 minutes.

  6. When rice cooked, remove the lid.

  7. Leave the rice for 5 minutes for extra moisture to leave the pot.

  8. Server the rice by fluffing with fork and enjoy!


Boiled Basmati Rice:


You cooked your rice, but it is uncooked or stiff. Here is why:

  1. You did not rinse the rice before cooking.

  2. You did not soak the rice in water for a minimum of 30 min.

  3. You soaked the rice for way too long.

  4. You put too much water while cooking.

It’s important to rinsed rice for 30 min before cook and drained it, otherwise starch will be produced in rice.

Before soaking your rice, rinse it a few times until the water is clear. Allow the rice to soak in that clear water.


Tips to cook Basmati Rice - basmati rice recipe:

  • Soak in water for 20 to 30 minutes.

  • Boil the water first and then add rice.

  • Add a teaspoon of ghee prevent rice to stick together.

  • Add some spices

  • Allow it to cook first on 60 % high flame and then 40 % on low flame.
